The name Old Forest Sounds was inspired by the phrase "all the nightly noises" near the beginning of the final stanza of the poem "The Adventures of Tom Bombabil": Old Tom Bombadil heeded not the voices, taps, knocks, dancing feet, all the nightly noises; slept till the sun arose, then sang like a startling: 'Hey! come derry-dol, merry-dol, my darling!'
